Thierry Henry is arguably the greatest ever Arsenal player of all time. His name will be passed down through generations of young Gunners when they ask who the statue of the man sliding on his knees outside the Emirates is.

The Frenchman has made no secret of his desire to one day return to Arsenal as manager when Arsene Wenger finally decides to step down. It’s the club he holds closest to his heart. He enjoyed the peak of his career there, becoming the club’s all-time top goal-scorer.
So it begs the question, why did he leave when he did?
Comedian Lee Mack didn’t hesitate to put the New York Redbulls hitman on the spot during The Graham Norton Show on BBC2 this weekend – when he asked if flop striker Nicklas Bendtner was the reason for his departure.
On a star-studded chat-show couch which also included Bend It Like Beckham star Kiera Knightley, Mack repeatedly asks Henry if there were any signings made by Wenger which he didn’t agree with, nudging him towards Danish misfit Bendtner.
The Arsenal legend nervously laughed off the claims by Mack.
