Joey Barton Supports Thomas Hitzlsperger Then Attacks PSG Defender Alex Over Anti-Gay Comments

It didn’t take long for Joey Barton to have his say on the story of the day after Thomas Hitzlsperger revealed he is gay.

The outspoken QPR midfielder took to Twitter to praise the German’s decision before attacking PSG defender Alex on comments he has made in a documentary to be broadcast on Canal+ television tonight.

The former Chelsea man is facing a huge backlash after making anti-gay comments, including “God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Yves.”

He goes on to say he is against divorce and abortion and “I’m not really for homosexuality,” and former Marseille player Barton addressed him head on.

Barton Tweeted the following:

Never one to hold back is our Joey. But at least he’s talking sense.
