As if Lionel Messi’s pride wasn’t hurting enough already this week after just losing his crown as the world’s greatest football player.

The Barcelona forward, who has picked up the accolade for the last four years, found himself falling victim to an array of heckling chants at Thursday evening’s event.
The little Argentinian wizard can be seen in this video – with his unmistakable red suit on – as he signs some autographs for the Catalan fans before an outburst of “RONALDO, RONALDO,” can be heard coming from other spectators.

… And so the Messi vs Ronaldo war wages on.
We are truly lucky to be witnessing an era such as this one in world football. Both Messi and Ronaldo continue to push each other to the limits, smashing all kinds of records and giving us some great football along the way. It’s a win-win for us really, no matter who’s on top.
But for now, it’s Ronnies’ time to shine.
