New Twitter Records Set As World Reacts To Ana Ivanovic's Shock Australian Open Win Over Serena Williams

Twitter went into meltdown early on Sunday morning as Ana Ivanovic beat Serena Williams in a sensational upset in the Australian Open fourth round.

The 18th seed’s 4-6 6-3 6-3 victory was so shocking that it set new social media records.

A total of 123,000 Tweets were sent during the match and peaked at 7,232 Tweets per minute as Ivanovic clinched the win.

Added to that, this post from the Australian Open account was retweeted 2,647 times which beats the previous 1,906 retweets during Novak Djokovic’s five-hour win over Rafael Nadal in the 2012 men’s final.

Maybe it had something to do with that picture too.
