Just days after Ana Ivanovic shocked Serena Williams in the fourth round of the Australian Open, Stanislas Wawrinka produced the second upset of the week by dumping Novak Djokovic out in the quarter-final today.

And Twitter went crazy at the result with both players and the tournament trending worldwide.

When the Australian Open official account Tweeted the result of Ivanovic’s win it was retweeted 2,647 times for a new record – but today’s result has smashed that in just two hours with 2,842 retweets and counting:

Wawrinka upset the reigning champion 2-6 6-4 6-2 3-6 9-7 to reach the semi-finals and was congratulated by tennis stars past and present:

It wasn’t all happy Tweets though as the Swiss No.8 vented his anger that he couldn’t get a post-match massage:
