8 Reasons Manchester United And England Need The Young Wayne Rooney Back

Wayne Rooney last week penned a new £300,000 five-and-a-half year deal at Manchester United.

All round good news for the Old Trafford and England faithful, right?

Wrong.

The lucrative contract may have settled any speculation that he will leave United under David Moyes.

And that’s surely music to the ears of national team boss Roy Hodgson who wants a fit and focused Rooney at the World Cup in the summer.

But does it even matter?

No matter how settled the striker is, does he still have the ability to lead his club side, to compete on all fronts and excel in a Three Lions shirt like he did as a fresh-faced youngster?

We don’t think so and here are eight reasons why Manchester United and England need the young Rooney back:

Is it not about time we saw him again?
