Atletico Madrid Defender Manquillo Falls On His Head After Clashing With Cristiano Ronaldo

Atletico Madrid defender Manquillo was extremely lucky to escape unscathed after he fell awkwardly during the first-half of his side’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Madrid tonight.

With Madrid leading proceedings 2-0 on the night (5-0 on aggregate), Manquillo jumped for a challenge with Cristiano Ronaldo, only for the Spanish right back to finish second best and fall on his neck after tussling with the Portuguese forward.

Ronaldo was harshly booked for the altercation by the referee, but things could have been a lot worse for 19-year-old Manquillo after he took the force of the drop on his head:

Manquillo, miraculously, was back on his feet moments later and the horrific fall didn’t seem to have any lasting effect as he waved away the medical staff before the half-time interval.

Not that his prolonged inclusion has helped Los Colchoneros as they currently still trail their city rivals by 5 goals.
