After years of going for so long without being paid for shirt sponsorship, the instalment of Qatar Airways on the shirts of Barcelona players was one which heralded a degree of criticism.
However, Barcelona took their partnership with the airline to new heights with the unveiling of a new plane kitted out in the famous red and blue of the current Spanish champions.

In a press release on the official FCB website, the club announced that the move builds upon the concept of ‘a team that unites the world’ and that the commitment to the relationship between the two ‘goes beyond shirt sponsorship’.
The new design, which was hand-painted on in Dublin, has been implemented onto a Boeing 777 and will fly to various locations including Bangkok and Mumbai.
Barca are certainly getting creative with their sponsorship deals, though this is a cut above their last move to put Intel’s logo on the inside of their shirts.
