Chelsea Players Will Appear On Latest Episode Of The Simpsons

Some of the greatest football teams in the world have been immortalised in popular culture.

Real Madrid were given the opportunity through football film trilogy Goal!, while the England national team’s 1990 World Cup campaign will forever me remembered through John Barnes’ World In Motion.

And it now appears it’s Chelsea‘s turn to take to finally take to the big stage.

You can forget winning the Premier League and who cares about a Champions League winners medal – you’ve only really made it when you appear on an episode of The Simpsons.

Yes, several of Chelsea’s first-team players are to become the latest ‘celebrities’ to appear on the American animated sitcom.

The news comes after Fox News reported back in October that The Simpsons were looking to link-up with several European football teams:

As our picture suggests, it looks like ‘keeper Petr Cech, captain John Terry, club legend Frank Lampard and this year’s stalwart Eden Hazard could appear on the episode.

Of course Chelsea will not be the first from the world of football to appear on the hit show, with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi appearing in the past:

Sadly, Brazilian defender David Luiz is not pictured with his ‘Simpsonised’ character.

But surely with such an uncanny resemblance to one of the shows most-loved characters, Sideshow Bob, it’s a forgone conclusion that Luiz will be involved!
