The Italian federation will launch it’s probe into the Coppa Sicilia match between Borgata Terrenove and Bagheria, the final game in a three-team group which also featured Partinicaudace.

All three sides play in Prima Categoria, the eighth tier of the Italian game.

Bagheria trailed 4-3 with 10 minutes to play, needing just a point to qualify, when Borgata hit two goals in quick succession to open up a three-goal cushion.

Borgata players then watched in disbelief as their opponents scored one own goal after the other in to their own net.

The result meant Terrenove qualified on goal difference ahead of the third team in the group, Partinicaudace.
