Christian Gimenez And Mauro Formica Play A Bit Of Football Tennis Mid-Match, Then Score Sensational Team Goal

Mexican side Cruz Azul thrashed Sporting Kansas City 5-1 in the CONCACAF Champions League last night, and as if the devastating scoreline wasn’t enough of a hammer blow for the MLS representatives, they will struggle to avoid seeing repeats of one of Azul’s goals today.

Yes, Azul duo Christian Gimenez and Mauro Formica completed a fantastic piece of football tennis from the middle of the pitch to the edge of Sporting’s box, before Gimenez finished off a sure-fire contender for team goal of the season.

Sporting were licking their wounds after being defeated 1-0 in the 1st leg of the tie, but Gimenez showed little remorse, when himself and former Blackburn Rovers player Mauro Formica linked up to score the fifth goal of the evening:
