It hasn’t been an easy ride supporting Aberdeen over the last few years, with the Dons failing to lift a major trophy since their League Cup success in 1995 against Dundee.
Yet this season it’s been all change at Pittodrie, with Derek McInnes’ men second in the Scottish Premiership and set to take on Inverness Caley Thistle in the League Cup Final this Sunday.
And this positivity has clearly made its way into the Aberdeen fan-base, with one plucky Dons fan creating an unofficial anthem for his side’s trip to Hampden Park this weekend.

The comical video was posted by FitbaThatba earlier today and features Aberdeen fans from across the world singing along to the song, entitled Stand Free.
Aberdeen legends Eoin Jess, Darren Mackie, Joe Harper and football journalist Graham Hunter also appear in the three-minute long clip:
The clip was posted to YouTube with this message: “A song by FitbaThatba to cheer on our beloved Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup Final, and I guess any other finals we ever manage to reach.
“Locations include: New York, London, Manilla, British Virgin Isles, Toronto, Sydney, Melbourne, Dundee, Aberdeen + Shire, Dubai, New Jersey and several others I can’t remember.”
If Aberdeen’s squad can match the ambition of their multi-talented fan-base who created the song, then Derek McInnes could be set to bring home the League Cup trophy this Sunday.
