Countdown Star And Manchester United Fan Rachel Riley Is Mercilessly Mocked In Studio After Loss To Manchester City

Most Manchester United fan’s have went into hiding since their 3-0 drubbing at the hands of local rivals Manchester City.

But Rachel Riley, the beautiful co-presenter of Countdown, had nowhere to hide this morning when the crew of the Channel 4 show aimed a blatant jibe at the United supporting 28 year-old.

Riley has seen her popularity rise to exceptional levels since she replaced former co-presenter Carol Vorderman in 2008.

But the former Oxford University maths student was left seething after the crew hijacked her letters board, writing “Blue Moon” – a clear reference to United’s cross-city rivals.

A frustrated Riley posted a picture of the sign via her official Twitter account:

Not that the Countdown staff felt any sympathy for Riley, as they went one step further in hanging a City scarf from the board:

Riley is a well-known supporter of the Old Trafford club and was famously commemorated on her 1000th episode of Countdown by Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, who presented her with a personalised Red Devils shirt:
