Former Heavyweight Champion Frank Bruno: I’m Learning How To Become A Hairdresser

Frank Bruno has found it difficult to walk away from the world of competitive boxing, but that could soon be about to change after he revealed his plans to get back into training…to become a professional hairdresser.

The 52-year-old Tweeted on Friday that he is currently looking to open his own salon and asked his 21,000 followers if they had any ideas for a name which he could use.

The sudden change from knock-out blows to blow-drys will come as a huge shock to Bruno’s loyal fan-base, who saw the former boxer rack up an impressive 40 wins in 45 bouts during his career, including an impressive 38 knock-outs.

Bruno’s long-term girlfriend Nina Coletta owns her own salon in Glasgow, and it is understood that the pairs blossoming relationship is the reason behind Bruno’s sudden interest in the profession.

Bruno took to Twitter to unveil his idea:

Bruno has struggled to live a normal life since retiring from the ring in 1996, but his courage in battling depression and bi-polar disorder, which he was diagnosed with in 2003, has only increased his popularity with British fans.
