:Werder Bremen midfielder Aaron Hunt has earned plaudits this weekend for his sportsmanship during his club’s important 2-0 victory over Nuremberg.
When his club were leading by two goals, Hunt went down rather easily in the Nuremberg box and the referee blew for a penalty. Hunt, however, remonstrated with the referee who reversed the decision.

It wasn’t the only moment of fair play during the game. Nuremberg’s Hiroshi Kiyotake had let the referee know that he had touched the ball last, therefore giving up a corner awarded to Nuremberg. Quite the outbreak of good sportsmanship during the Bundesliga clash with the result leaving Bremen one point off 10th-placed 1899 Hoffenheim.
Credit where credit is due for admitting that there had been no contact when he tumbled in the box but the cynic in me wonders if he would have held his hands up had his side not been winning. You can see the incident in the video below:
Is it “great sportsmanship” as the commentator states in the video or just a really bad dive?
