Joey Barton Reacts Angrily On Twitter To Charlton Sacking Chris Powell

Controversy surrounded The Valley this morning, as Charlton Athletic announced the departure of Chris Powell from the club.

Just minutes after the news broke of Powell’s sacking from the club, it emerged that AC Milan Youth Coach Jose Riga was at the club’s training ground, ready to take the reigns.

The club’s new owners, already causing a stir thanks to their split loyalties and well-documented transfer policies, have provoked an angry reaction from Charlton fans on Twitter.

Not to be outdone though, the ever-opinionated Joey Barton also made sure he had his say on the situation and the controversial midfielder illustrated how he thought this morning’s events in South London were part of a bigger problem in English football.

It didn’t take long for Barton to cease making a point and start a full-on Twitter rant.

And finally, Barton decided to talk about foreign appointments in general, indicating it’s all about the money.

Once again, we have Twitter to thank for bringing out the very best from the world of sport.
