Southampton Left-Back And Ultimate Nice Guy Luke Shaw Reveals His Nerves On Making England Bow Via Twitter

England secured a narrow win over Denmark at Wembley last night, with Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge scoring the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute.

Southampton defender Luke Shaw also made his first appearance for the national team, replacing seasoned veteran Ashley Cole in the second half.

Shaw enjoyed a composed debut and appeared to be at ease in an England shirt. But after the game he took to Twitter to reveal he was acutally a bag of nerves on the touch-line and remained humble despite winning his first cap.

Many expect Shaw to become England’s first choice left-back over the next few years with Cole and Leighton Baines gradually coming toward the end of their careers.

Not that you could tell, as Shaw posted a series of down to earth, humbling Tweets after the win against Denmark:

Shaw’s elation would then spread over to his Instagram account, where he posted this picture captioned, “Proud moment”:

Shaw’s reaction just goes to show that not all young England internationals are egomaniacs, some of them just love to play football.
