What Were Paddy Power Thinking With This Oscar Pistorius Newspaper Advert?

Paddy Power have always been known for their hilarious marketing strategies such as the Sir Alex Ferguson waxwork outside of Old Trafford.

However, after already causing outrage for taking bets on the Oscar Pistorius murder trial, the bookmakers may have taken it a step too far by offering money back on bets placed if he is found not guilty.

Paddy’s placed the following advert in a newspaper and it has been met by outrage with a petition being started to stop the bookies taking bets on the murder trial.

The ad also has a dig at Pistorius’ disability with the caption ‘Money back if he walks’.

Paddy’s have already said before they would not stop their controversial adverts and it will be interesting to see how they react to this particular scenario.
