Carlos Tevez has ruled himself out of going to the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Argentina this summer – because he’s off to Disney World with his family instead.
The Juventus striker, who moved to Italy from Manchester City last year, has been in fine form after netting 18 times already this season. It’s this rich run of goalscoring prowess which has led to speculation that he could be recalled to the national side.
But it appears any plans for the former Manchester Untited and West Ham striker to return have been rubbished by the player himself… because he already has plans.
Tevez told reporters: “I don’t think I will be with my national team at the World Cup.
“I’ve already bought tickets to go with my wife and three children to Disney World.”
The bizarre statement could see Tevez isolated further from the international set-up in Argentina. The forward has been out in the cold since missing a penalty against Uruguay in the quarter-finals of the Copa America in 2011.
