We, here at Talking Baws, love it when a fan creates their own parody of a famous song in relation to their sports team.

First we had Crystal Palace fans’ excellent rendition of Chamakh For Good, only to be followed by a set of wacky Aberdeen supporters, who unveiled their own unofficial League Cup anthem.

And with the MLB season finally underway, it’s now the turn of baseball fans to take to the mic, with one Kansas City fan leading the line with this brilliant effort.

Standout lyrics of the song, performed by John Leslie Long, include the opening line: “A baseball diamond green and fresh, I cut my teeth on series rings in the 80s”

Another brilliant anecdote includes, “But every year it’s like bullpens, dugouts, swingin’ for the fences. Homeruns, strikeouts, trashin’ the opponents. We don’t care, we’re driving homers in our dreams”

Fantastic.
