The racing legend, who was killed in an accident while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, was a lifelong fan of Corinthians.

And the Sao Paolo club have paid tribute to Senna, by wearing racing helmets as they took to the pitch before their cup clash with Nacional.

Each Corinthians player was spotted carrying a yellow helmet on to the field at the Arena Amazonia.

The first-team then lined up, put their helmets on and received a brilliant round of applause from the Corinthians fans:

The brightly coloured helmets are replicas of the one worn by the driver during his glittering career on the race track.

Corinthians went on to win the match 3-0.

We’re sure Senna would have been proud!
