NFL’s First Openly Gay Player Michael Sam Sells Second-Most Jerseys Of All Draft Picks

NFL’s First Openly Gay Player Michael Sam Sells Second-Most Jerseys Of All Draft Picks

The reaction to the St. Louis Rams drafting Michael Sam – the NFL’s first openly gay player – seems to be going well.

Since he was drafted in the final round on Saturday night, Sam’s new Jersey has sold the second-highest amount all draft picks over the weekend.

And that including No1 pick Jadeveon Clowney, Blake Bortles and Teddy Bridgewater.

Only the Cleveland Browns’ Johnny Manziel has sold more – and we all knew that would happen.

Here’s the top five in ranking order:

1. Johnny Manziel (Cleveland Browns)
2. Michael Sam (St. Louis Rams)
3. Jadeveon Clowney (Houston Texans)
4. Teddy Bridgewater (Minnesota Vikings)
5. Blake Bortles (Jacksonville Jaguars)

It just shows you how many people are rallying behind the defensive end on what must be one of the most significant weekends in the sport.
