Paul Scholes: Toni Kroos Is The First Man I’d Bring Into Manchester United This Summer

Paddy Power have pulled off the football journalism coup of the summer by getting Manchester United legend Paul Scholes to do a column for their blog.

And the midfielder – who retired last summer at Old Trafford – has pulled no punches when it comes to Wayne Rooney, Ed Woodward and who he believes the club should sign.

While he feels Rooney may have hit his peak, and has the ability to play his central midfield role into his mid-thirties – Scholes finished the blog giving his thoughts on who he believes should be first in the door under Louis van Gaal:

The first player I’d bring in is Toni Kroos. He’s a top-class central midfield player but United need five or six to get anywhere near the top of the Premier League again.”

Frank assessment from Scholes who obviously feels a lot needs changing if United are to return to the top.

And it probably proves again just how good a player Kroos is if arguably England’s greatest midfielder ever rates him so highly.
