But despite the fantastic job Pochettino has done this season, in the run up to next weekend’s clash with Manchester United, it is The Saints groundsman who is reveling in the limelight – after he revealed a fantastic new pitch pattern on the St Mary’s turf.

Of course it’s not the first time groundsman Andy Gray has shown a bit of originality with the St Mary’s pitch.
Last week for the visit of Roberto Martinez’s Everton, Gray created a slick tartan design:
