Dare to say Robinson Cano‘s name loud enough in New York and you will most probably end up hearing a loud boo from some crazy Yankees fan still furious about his megabucks move to the Seattle Mariners.
It’s fair to say the ex-Yankees second baseman isn’t highly regarded among their fans anymore.
And he was told so by the whole of Yankee stadium on Monday when he visited with the Mariners.
But there was a moment of true class from one fan when Cano stepped up to the plate.
This Yankees fan knows sport is just a game – and if he were offered a 10-year, $240million contract then he’d probably take it too – popped his mid-game sandwich in his mouth and applauded the Dominican:
Well done, sir. You’ve restored our faith in fans forever.
