Uruguay’s Preparations For England Clash Thrown Into Meltdown After Officials Seize Caramel Spread Shipment

Uruguay’s Preparations For England Clash Thrown Into Meltdown After Officials Seize Caramel Spread Shipment

England may have been handed a big boost ahead of their crunch World Cup clash against Uruguay on Thursday – after a 39kg shipment of caramel spread was confiscated from their opponents.

The Uruguayan squad had ordered some of the country’s favourite dulche de leche but it was held up upon touching down in the country as authorities ruled that as it is made with milk they didn’t have the necessary sanitary documentation.

It’s believed by some Uruguayan fans that Oscar Tabarez’s side lost their opening fixture 3-1 to Costa Rica because of the shortage.

Uruguay will be able to get their hands on the dulche de leche once they provide the documentation.

They face Roy Hodgson’s England at 8pm on Thursday in Sao Paolo.
