Steven Gerrard And Andrea Pirlo Among Football Stars Immortalised In Paint

Steven Gerrard leads a host of football starts immortalised in historic paintings.

Painted by one-time faker John Myatt, who was part of the 20th century’s biggest art fraud, Gerrard, Andrea Pirlo, Andres Iniesta, Arjen Robben and Cristiano Ronaldo are all featured on the canvas.

Juventus and Italy legend Pirlo is painted in the style of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa:

While Gerrard appears like he’s leading an army into battle in the style of Joshua Reynolds’ portrait of General John Burgoyne:

As for Barcelona and Spain star Iniesta, he gets Pablo Picasso’s Portrait of Dora Maar treatment:

Arjen Robben – who played a starring role for Holland at the World Cup – is in the style of Vincent Van Gogh’s self portrait:

While Cristiano Ronaldo gets the simple Columbano Bordalo Pinheiros Portrait of Professor Antero de Quental:
