The 23-year-old striker completed his £16million move from Manchester United on transfer deadline day after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
With the Louis van Gaal adding attacking options in Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, Welbeck had become surplus to requirements.
But now he insists he can fit right into Arsene Wenger’s plans at the Emirates.
He said: “It’s exciting times for me now and it’s great for me to be a part of this club.
“It’s a team that I’ve always watched in the Premier League and I’ve envisaged myself playing in.
The England striker’s move to North London will see him join an already strong Gunners attack, including new signing Alexis Sanchez.
And he believes he can slot right into the style of play instilled by Wenger.
He added: “With the style of play the manager’s got and the boys play in, with the magnificent players they’ve got in and around the midfield slotting balls through, I feel I can be running on to the end of those balls and slotting them away.”
