Alabama Boosters Pay For Nick Saban’s $3.1Million Home.. Despite Not Needing To

Nick Saban really does have the dream job at Alabama despite the high expectations of the Crimson Tide faithful.

As well as the estimated $7million per year contract he has at the SEC giants, he also saw his $3.1million home paid off by the Crimson Tide Foundation in January 2013.

That’s according to a report from AL.com, who spoke to assistant secretary of the Foundation, Scott Phelps.

He said:

“It’s not all that unusual in the world for universities to provide the housing.

“We want to keep him happy. We think he is the best coach in America.”

Saban continues to live in the 8,759-square-foot home with the foundation picking up the tab for property taxes each year.

AL.com also say an NCAA spokesperson said the set-up is allowed as the coach’s compensation can come from a university foundation.
