Arsenal Striker Lukas Podolski Is Set To Star In German Comedy Movie

Lukas Podolski is a really funny guy.

A few minutes on the Arsenal man’s Instagram or Twitter profile will tell you that.

Whether he’s reacting to speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham or making peculiar bets with Borussia Dortmund players, Podolski knows how to make us all laugh.

And with the 29-year-old spending most of this season on the bench at the Emirates, Podolski seems to have the time to finally play to his comedic strengths, and star in upcoming German comedy, Macho Man.

The German international is a solid fan favourite at Arsenal, mainly due to his attitude and natural charisma.

And what better way to showcase his non-footballing talents than to appear in a real movie.

Macho Man is adapted from a best-selling novel and follows the love life of Daniel Hagenberger, a shy and insecure character, and his relationship with a Turkish woman called Aylin Denizoglu.

But nobody cares about that.

After all, we only came to see the Lukas.

Podolski plays himself in the film and has admitted to having already filmed his scenes, set in his former team Cologne’s stadium.

“The film will be shot in my hometown Cologne, where I grew up and where my career started.

“My scene takes place in the stadium and it’s really funny, I think.

“I am curious to see the result when I go to the premiere and see myself on the screen.”

Macho Man is set to be released in Germany on October 22, 2015.
