Argentina Pair Sergio Aguero And Marcos Rojo In Bitter Feud Ahead Of Manchester Derby

The Manchester Derby has a definite Latin feel to it this time around.

With Argentina well represented with Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis, Angel Di Maria and Marcos Rojo all set to start at the Etihad stadium.

So you’d think there would be a sense of camaraderie across the Manchester divide this afternoon.

But it seems that simply isn’t the case, with Aguero and Rojo reportedly involved in a bitter girlfriend-feud.

It apparently kicked off between the pair during the World Cup in Brazil, when after Argentina had defeated Nigeria, Rojo brought pop-star Ezequiel “el PolacoCwirkaluk into the dressing room.

This would usually be fine, but it just so happens that el Polaco is an ex-boyfriend of Aguero’s girlfriend, Karina Tejeda.

Aguero was reportedly incensed with Rojo’s actions and had to be held back from el Polaco by his national team-mates.

And it seems the pair still haven’t buried the hatchet, despite Rojo moving to Manchester in the summer.

Aguero and Rojo were scheduled to attend an event with Manchester school kids this week, but Aguero allegedly cancelled when he heard Rojo would be involved.

The Mirror reported:

The row, involving Aguero’s girlfriend, was the reason the in-form City striker pulled out of a kids’ coaching session alongside United defender Rojo on Friday in the East Manchester district of Ardwick as part of the Premier League Kicks initiative.

City officials were left red-faced when Aguero refused to attend at the last-minute claiming he had to pick up family members from the airport.

“Where is Sergio?” asked Rojo, before adding: “Perhaps he is a little scared.”

The animosity between the two players should definitely add some extra spice to the derby this afternoon.

So, don’t be too surprised if we see a bit of handbags between the Argentina team-mates.
