Paul Gascoigne Reveals Arsenal Covered His £50,000 Medical Bill

Despite never playing for the club, Paul Gascoigne shows how generous a club Arsenal really are.

Just last month ‘Gazza’ was sectioned under the Mental Health Act following another infamous binge. The former Rangers and Spurs star revealed that the The Gunners paid £22,000 of the fee and Arsene Wenger covered the other £28,000 from his own pocket.

Gascoigne told The Sun, ‘I rang up Gary Lewin (Arsenal Physio) and told him I wasn’t feeling great’

‘He said to go to hospital as he feared it was pneumonia. Wenger then agreed to arrange £28,000 to pay for the treatment. Arsenal also paid £22,000 when I had hip treatment’
