It took a top corner free-kick stunner from Mael Corboz to win the Big Ten Championship for the University of Maryland‘s soccer team today.
A long season all boiled down to a showdown between Maryland (13-5-3) and the Indiana Hoosiers (12-4-5) at College Park.
And with the scores tied at 1-1, Maryland’s Mael Corboz stepped up to an 86th-minute free-kick and did this:

It sealed the Big Ten Championship for the home side and sets them up for the NCAA tournament on Monday.
Christoffer Wallander-Ianev opened the scoring for the Terrapins but that was cancelled out by Andrew Oliver before Corboz’s sensational winning goal.
