When a team is down in the dumps and the manager can’t do much from the sidelines the club captain is always one man you can count on to try and rally his troops.
And in Manchester City’s case they’ve got a great leader in the form of Vincent Kompany.
The Belgian was one of the only City players worth pass marks in tonight’s 2-1 defeat to CSKA Moscow and he has thanked the fans for their continuous support during what manager Manuel Pellegrini has branded a ‘crisis’.

City need to win their remaining two games against Bayern Munich – where they will be without Yaya Toure and Fernandinho – and Roma to have any chance of going through to the knockout stages.
