Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers brought back his title belt celebration after throwing a touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson on Monday night.
The move, traditionally reserved for running plays, caused listeners of Rodgers’ radio show with Jason Wilde to question why he performed it after a pass.
And Rodgers responded with a tongue ‘n cheek answer that nobody expected.
He said: “I just wanted to remind people you could do that celebration and not get hurt.”
Rodgers is of course making reference to Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch and Bears defensive lineman Lamarr Houston, who both suffered season-ending injuries doing the dance.
