Central Michigan University scored one of college football’s greatest-ever touchdowns on Wednesday during their Popeyes Bahamas Bowl game with Western Kentucky.
The Chippewas were trailing 49-42 with seconds on the clock before producing this unbelievable lateral play.
Quarterback Cooper Rush – who passed for a bowl record seven touchdowns – threw for Titus Davis via a center and two other wide receivers before the ball ended up in the end zone with time out.
Amazingly, it gave CMU the chance to win with a two-point conversion but that was broken up by the aptly-named Hilltoppers’ defensive back Wonderful Terry.
And suddenly Central Michigan’s unbelievable almost 35-point comeback was ended.
It was a spectacular game which can only be summed up by watching the incredible play which nearly gave CMU the win:
