VIDEO: Esteban Cambiasso Misses An Empty Net After This Simon Mignolet Clanger

Esteban Cambiasso is one of the most decorated players in Europe, having won the Champions League along with domestic titles in both Spain and Italy.

So, at the very least you’d expect an ex-Argentina international, who has over 50 caps for his country, to finish an opportunity like the one he has just been given for Leicester City against Liverpool.

Simon Mignolet, true to form, misplaced his kick and the ball fell kindly to an unmarked, well-positioned Cambiasso.

The 34-year-old veteran had all the time in the world to set himself and fire the ball into an empty net.

Unfortunately for the Foxes, this happened instead:

It soon went from bad to worse for Mignolet, however, when he scored an own-goal only for Liverpool to level with an Adam Lallana strike.
