Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney Relives Moment he Met Hero Mike Tyson

Wayne Rooney has taken a look back in time to the moment he met his boxing hero Mike Tyson.

The Manchester United captain posted a picture alongside the former world heavyweight champion on his Instagram today.

And it harks back to a time where Rooney was a much more fresh-faced youngster at the beginning of his career.

He wrote alongside the picture with Tyson:

TBT – When I met Mike Tyson, my favourite boxer of all time

You wonder whether Tyson actually had a clue who Rooney was when the picture was taken?

Meanwhile, Rooney’s team-mate Jesse Lingard has vowed to displace either the United captain or Juan Mata for a starting place in Louis van Gaal’s squad.

The United youngster has returned from a serious knee injury picked up earlier in the season and is fully focused on getting a first team spot for the second half of the season.
