Marshawn Lynch Risked Ban From Seahawks-Packers Game if He Wore Custom Golden Cleats

Marshawn Lynch was forced to ditch the customised golden cleats he had planned to wear during tonight’s NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Seattle Seahawks running back was due to wear the shoes which “feature 24K gold flake paint with a ridiculous gold chrome plate at the bottom” and are valued at $1,100, according to TMZ Sports.

But he warmed up at CenturyLink Field with his usual green cleats and started the game wearing those too.

According to Sports Radio KJR’s Curtis Crabtree, the NFL clamped down on the footwear – and Lynch was forced to give in:

If true, it’s a disappointing threat from the NFL. We’d have loved to see Lynch in these.
