Chelsea youth team star Islam Feruz is to be sent home early from his loan spell at Blackpool.
Feruz, 19, has played just 16 minutes of action for the struggling Seaside club since joining on loan last month.
And manager Lee Clarke has revealed the former Celtic protégé will now be sent back to Stamford Bridge.
“It hasn’t worked out for him here for one reason or another.
“Between Islam, his agent and agent we are looking to send him back as it hasn’t happened for him here.
“It’s not about your background, it’s the way you perform in training and off the field which gives you a place in the team.”
Following the midweek defeat to high-flying Brentford, Feruz courted controversy by tweeting: “This team takes more kick-offs than corners.”
This is the second time Feruz has failed to make an impression on loan after making just one appearance whilst on a season-long deal at OFI Crete in 2014.
Somalia-born Feruz also remains in the international wilderness after apparently turning his back on playing for Scotland in May last year.
