Via The Telegraph:

Manny has 100 per cent signed his side of the deal,” “It is now over to Mayweather to close the deal and announce the fight.” Pacquiao himself revealed Friday that he has started training in General Santos City, Philippines for his next fight.

According to the report, the announcement of the deal can come as soon as this weekend during the opening tip-off the NBA All-Star Game for maximum exposure to sports and mainstream media.

Mayweather was in New York on Friday, buying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewellery, and there are indications that the unbeaten American boxer could even decide to announce the superfight officially at the NBA All-Star Game tip-off, which takes place on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

The fight will likely happen in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena May 2nd. The reported deal is worth 250 million dollars American with Mayweather to take in 60 percent of the purse to Pacquiao going home with 40 percent.

You might wonder why the split is that way versus a more standard winner-loser split. Well, Mayweather’s ego needs to get paid, and Pacquiao still does well and would get the bragging rights too.

Of course, nothing is official until it is official. After all the dodging, trash talk and previous reports, we should take this with a grain of salt until it is announced. However, it looks very likely that the fight will be happening sooner than later which is everything a boxing fan wants to see.
