Diego Simeone’s son Giovanni scored nine goals as Argentina won the Under-20 South American Championship this week.
The oldest son of the Atletico Madrid manager, 19-year-old Giovanni plays for River Plate and has already made 31 appearances and scored six goals since making his debut at 17 two years ago.
And it seems like the ability to play football runs in the family – although Diego’s son doesn’t quite have the same style as his father.
He was the Argentinians’ main man in the championship win which now guarantees the country a place in the 2016 Olympics.
His dad took to Twitter to congratulate him on the feat, writing:
The effort and work have their reward, son. Enjoy it with your team.

With a record of nine goals in 10 games, Simeone Jr is sure to appear on the radar of many teams now – especially given his link to father Diego, who was a hero for the national team.
