VIDEO: Ex-Manchester City Hitman Bradley Wright-Phillips Scores Marco Van Basten Volley in New York Red Bulls Training

Bradley Wright-Phillips channeled his inner Marco van Basten during New York Red Bulls training today.

The former Manchester City striker – brother of QPR winger Shaun – is now the leading man with the NY franchise after the off-season exits of superstars Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill.

Henry called time on his playing career in the middle of December to return to the UK for a job as a pundit with Sky Sports.

While Cahill announced his New York exit yesterday as he makes a move to Chinese big spenders Shanghai Shenhua.

But Red Bulls fans don’t need to worry about their frontline lacking a bit of quality – not if this goal from pre-season training is anything to go by.

Wright-Phillips – also a former striker with Southampton, Plymouth, Charlton and Brentford – posted this video to his Instagram today and it’s sure to go viral because it’s a wonder goal:

Van Basten, Holland, 1988 eat your heart out.
