The match, commonly described as The Mother of all Battles, took place between Greek rivals Olympiakos and Panathinkaikos last night.
And it certainly lived up to its volatile reputation, with Olympiakos manager Vitor Pereira nearly causing a mass riot before the game even kicked off.
In a video published to YouTube, Pereira can be seen advancing toward what seems to be a single pitch invader.
However, the closer the Portuguese manager gets to the Panathinaikos fans, the more hostile the atmosphere becomes.
Before too long, the former Porto boss is bombarded as the incensed supporters throw missiles, flares and other items on the pitch.
The original fan who Pereira confronted also appears to throw a chair in the coach’s direction, narrowly missing.
Pereira then has to be escorted from the pitch as fan break through the security barrier:

While the match finished 2-1 in Panathinaikos’ favour, it’s clear that there are no real winners here.
Except Pereira that is, who can count himself very lucky to not have been caught up in real trouble.
