Thierry Henry has said that he does not want to see Arsenal going through the same thing as Liverpool by not winning a league title in 25 years.
The Frenchman believes that the current squad at the Emirates are closer to lifting the Premier League trophy than squads in recent years gone by, however, he agrees there are still some issues to sort out.
Speak to French magazine L’Equipe, Henry said:
If I had told you in 1990 that Liverpool would not win the title in the next 25 years, you would have taken me for a madman. I don’t want the same thing to happen to Arsenal.
It’s already been 11 years. This year, we’re not so far off. With the exception of the first leg against Monaco, they are on the right track, but they undoubtedly dropped too many points at the start of the season. But I think this squad can win the title in the years to come.
The Gunners lie seven points behind first placed Chelsea, however, the trophy looks set to be heading to Stamford Bridge before the season comes to an end.
