David De Gea: Win Over Liverpool is a Great Day to Remember For Manchester United

David de Gea has called today a day to remember after Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield.

The Spanish goalkeeper and his side managed to survive a late Liverpool rally to secure all three points and move five clear of today’s opponents in the fourth and final Champions League place.

De Gea’s compatriot Juan Mata was the hero as he scored twice to give United the victory.

Daniel Sturridge had hit the net to breathe life into Liverpool, who had Steven Gerrard sent off just 45 seconds into the second-half.

But the visitors held on for a big victory – and de Gea took to Instagram to celebrate it.

He wrote:

Yeees!!! Amazing win!! A great day to remember! This one is for you! All together, we are a TEAM! @manchesterunited

The win now strengthens United’s position in the top four and could allow them to think about catching Arsenal and Manchester City who sit just one and two points above them in third and second respectively.
