Dundee Youngsters Released ‘Because They Went to Support Rivals United at Cup Final’

Two Dundee youth players have taken to Twitter to slam the club after claiming to have been released for going to watch their rivals Dundee United in the League Cup Final.

Liam Fitzsimons shared the news on social media last night saying that he was gutted, but couldn’t believe that he had been released for going to a cup final.

And team-mate Josh Mackenzie wasn’t long to follow saying that he was ‘f**king gutted’ and ‘fuming’ upon hearing his fate.

Both players, 16-years-old, are from the City of Discovery and played for Dundee FC, however, they are both supporters of their city rivals Dundee United and took the opportunity to watch them at Hampden Park on Sunday in the final against Celtic.

And that decision cost them their youth career as the Dens Park club, according to Fitzsimons, said that they showed a lack of loyalty in going to support their rivals.
