VIDEO: Steven Gerrard And Jamie Carragher Pick Their Squads For All-Star Charity Match

With the news that the Steven Gerrard versus Jamie Carragher Anfield all-star charity match on March 29 is a sell out, focus now switches to which players will perform on the day.

And this afternoon, Gerrard and his former Liverpool teammate Carragher selected their squads.

The players up for grabs included former Anfield heroes, such as Xabi Alonso, Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres.

Other star names will also feature, including Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba and John Terry.

So, who got who?

Did Gerrard use his power as the club’s current captain to plunder the best players?

Or, did Carragher utilise the skills he has acquired as a Sky Sports pundit to out-muscle the midfielder?

Interestingly, both Gerrard and Carragher use the opportunity to trash talk their opposition:

With more players expected to be added to the game, it should prove an interesting contest.

Proceeds from the match will go toward the Liverpool Foundation’s community programmes, which benefit thousands of young people and adults in Liverpool.
