What do you do when you have a Cinderella story style goaltender named Andrew Hammond almost single-handedly leading your team back to the playoffs in Ottawa? Well, for Senators fans, tonight they celebrated by throwing hamburgers on the ice after a victory.

That’s right. Hamburgers. Actual hamburgers. Many of which were bought at McDonald’s before the game and brought into the arena on the chance that 3 hours later the fans could throw them to celebrate a victory. But that’s just what you do with a goaltending sensation like Andrew “The Hamburglar” Hammond in net.
And what do you do if you are a teammate of The Hamburglar and burgers are raining down onto the ice? If you are 19 year old Curtis Lazar, you eat the burgers. When asked why he decided to eat the burger he responded:
I was hungry, so why not?

Chew on, Curtis. And lets hope that Hammond can keep up his stellar play for more burger awesomeness.
If you are unfamiliar with the Senators goaltending sensation, you should be. He was never drafted and was an average AHL goaltender this season posting a .910 save percentage and a 25-19-3 record. In the NHL? After tonight’s win he sits pretty at 12-0-1 with a 1.5 goals against average and a .950 save percentage.
This run has earned Andrew Hammond free McDonald’s for life in Ottawa, so he has that to fall back on in case this hockey thing does not work out.
