5 Great Tips to Win the Grand National

5 Great Tips to Win the Grand National

The Grand National is arguably horse racing’s biggest day of the year.

Twenty horses will travel the 4mile, 3fl course at Aintree on Saturday aiming to take home the £1million winners’ jackpot.

But how can you pick between that many horses to go around a demanding trip unscathed in a race which year-after-year sees some high-profile casualties?

Well, rather than closing your eyes and seeing where your finger lands, we’ve got you covered.

We asked five hotel owners around some of Britain’s best racecourses who they were backing going into the big one.

And here we’ve got some great picks to do the job:

5* The Cedar Court Grand said:

We’re backing outsider Baileys Concerto. North Yorkshire-based jockey Brian Hughes will be on-board and is closing in on 100 wins for the season. It would be great if he could do it on Saturday.

Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel & Country Park said:

First Lieutenant ran recently at Thurles. One for the girls as Nina Carberry is riding the horse and her sister-in-law Katie Walsh (Ruby Walsh) won the Irish National at Fairyhouse a couple of days ago.

Woodlands Park Hotel at Sandown racecourse said:

Shutthefrontdoor is our tip for the race – he won the Irish Grand National in 2014 and looks like he’ll have the edge this year.

The Vineyard hotel at Newbury racecourse said:

Rocky Creek is ours – he ran recently at Betbright Chase and looks promising.

Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa said:

Cause of Causes is our tip – he recently won at Cheltenham so we are backing him this year!

Who are you backing at Aintree tomorrow? Let us know in the comments below.
